~ Aquila, Should it Get an Expansion? ~

~ Back in August KingsIsle released new content in Wizard101. This new content was an Aquilan expansion. Now it's debatable weather Aquila is a world itself or simply an expansion of Wizard City in Wizard101. But to make it easier on my part I'm simply going to call it a World. Now, to the topic at hand. "Aquila, Should It Get An Expansion?" Read on to hear my thoughts about this subject... ~

~ Umbra’s Extended Post Note ~

~ Evaluating Aquila ~

~ Aquila itself is arguably one of the most beautiful Worlds in the Spiral.  Its filled with many mythical monsters, lore, funny and exciting characters, and even heroes in the making. And if you haven't figured it out yet Aquila is home to the Eagles which is why their world is named the way it is. As well Aquila is Greek and a little Roman inspired. ~

~ And as I stated earlier, Aquila is home to the Eagles and many mythical monsters. But there's more than just that, Vultures and Orphidian serpents dwell here too. All though in Wizard101's version of Aquila we don't get to involved with these creatures. Wizard101's version of Aquila is basically a small chuck of land labeled as the Garden of the Hesperides ~

~ In the Garden of the Hesperides your wizard encounters a wise olde Satyr named Silenus. He is basically your guide throughout Aquila. And so, as you adventure throughout the Spiral at certain points you'll be invited into Cyrus' classroom so that he can then direct you to Aquila to speak to Silenus who gives you a brief introduction on one of the current three zones in Aquila. After that he sends you to speak with one of his three daughters who give yet another introduction about one of the three zones and then finally you're sent to one of those three zones. ~

~ The three zones are Mount Olympus (30+), Atlantea (70+), and Tartarus (90+). Inside each of the Dungeons are a unique set of challenges all which lead up to the final Boss of the Dungeon whom is either Zeus Sky Father, Poseidon Earth Shaker, or Hades the Unseen whom drop rare but fairly good attire. And all three of the mentioned characters are known as the Immortals in Aquila. And in our world they're well renowned in Greek mythology as the great three brothers and the children of Cronus and Rhea. ~

~ Now that I've shared with you what Aquila is all about I'd like to share with you an opinion from someone else view. ~

~ Gust Writer Ian StormStaff's Opinion on Aquila ~

~ "Though many find the Wizard101 Aquila not worth the time, I'm actually fond of it, and think it was a great idea. Aquila is meant to give players something to do when not questing, much like gardening, PvP, and other side attractions. It has three nifty dungeons that give unique drops, have hidden furniture, and offer a change of view for players. I found Aquila refreshing to play through and the drops nice enough to run more than once. The hidden furniture is very nice and the story is enough to keep ones attention without boring them. I, as a member don't have this issue, but agree that the crowns pricing is a little high for a side attraction like this, but other than the pricing being high, my only other complaint is gear. Aquila was maybe intended to help offset many players dependence on crowns/hoard/waterworks gear, which it very well could have. But waterworks and hoard gear is still more powerful than the later Aquila dungeons can supply. It was nice of KI to add new rare gear sets, but they still don't quite match with what we need. More areas like Aquila would be great in my opinion! Perhaps lengthening them to something more along the lines of Wysteria would make the price worth it. I definitely hope to see more side events, maybe even seasonal events, added to the game. They provide a new layer of content and much like the holiday events can bring in a decent amount of money for Kingsisle" ~

~ Now it's ((sort of almost)) time for the topic of interest "Aquila, Should it Get an Expansion?" ~

~ The Topic That Brought You Here...Sort Of ~

~ The answer is yes. However! There's more to it... Not only do I believe Aquila should get an expansion but I believe the original three Dungeons should be revised. What do I mean by that? Well currently as it stands the three current Dungeons are extremely expensive. And if you're after the attire that the final Bosses drop than you'll have to spend hours going through the long Dungeon many times. The reason behind this is because KingsIsle has the drop rates way to low when it comes to this special attire that is only partially worth it. And what I mean by that is that the attire is lacking in some areas. It mostly focus on Damage and Critical rating and not enough Resistance and/or Block rating. ~

~ So what I believe is that if Aquila gets an expansion the prices of the Dungeons either need to be lowered or the drop rates of this rare attire needs to increase drastically. ((This goes for Morganthe too.)) But anyways, back to the main topic. I'm going to share my ideas on new Dungeons KingsIsle could add and how they'd be able to implement them into the game. Here I go... ~

~ Expanding the Expansion ~

~ Currently there are only Dungeons for wizards of the Levels 30+, 70+, and 90+. And if you haven't noticed there's quite a major gap before a wizard can return to Aquila for new attire. Thus I think KingsIsle should implement a "trial" Dungeon if you will and make the introduction to Aquila at level 10+. This Dungeon will could take place in a place that everyone has wanted to visit. The doors to Hera's golden apple tree. ~

~ Here's how I think things could play out...

1.) The wizard talks to Cyrus, then Silenus, and then the guard that stands outside the doors. Once the wizard has done all of that the next step is getting inside.

2.) Once inside the wizard will encounter Ladon's heads. The wizard will have to fight them. ((Imagine two connected to necks coming from high up.)) Both heads will be Rank 3 Myth Elites.

3.)  After Ladon is defeated the wizard encounters a puzzle. Dryads appear blocking the way to the tree. The only the wizard can get by is by giving each Dryad what she wants. There will be various items scattered about the garden. The wizard must pick them up and give them to the appropriate Dryad based upon their appearance. If the wizard fails to do this properly (s)he will have to duel the 4 Dryads who will be Rank 2 Life creatures.

4.) lastly, once all of this has been completed the wizard will approach the tree to be encountered by Hera ((Imagine a feminine Gryphon Peacock.)). The wizard must duel her and once she's defeated the wizard will have a chance at gaining some decent attire for their level and then they can talk to Silenus and freely do it again if they wish. Hera herself will be a Rank 4 Star Boss with a total of 1500 Health and she will know basic Balance balance spells and will have a Sprite cheat that occurs every 5 rounds or so. And her natural attack will be Star Damaged based.

...now that you've read how I think the 10+ Dungeon could play out I'll simply list my idea for name for a Level 50+ Dungeon and then I'll conclude this post. Next time I'll cover the rest of my thoughts on Aquila and how an expansion could come into play and how some objects in the garden can come into play. ~

~ The Dungeon name could be "House of Battle (50+) Ares (Fire) and Athena (Balance)" ~
