~ A Change for the Better ~

~ Within the past few months I’ve become very disappointed with KingsIsle. They seem to be, in my opinion, not that great of a company anymore. They’re not listening to their players as much, the Commons is full of insults, swears, and rudeness alike, they’re support is lacking, and because of all of this I’ve noticed the population in Wizard101 is shrinking. Many of my once good friends that I met through the game have left or seem to be about to leave and it’s becoming very upsetting to know that some of my best friendships in game are falling apart. ~

~ ‘Allo readers of young and old. Upon clicking the “Read More” icon you were transfered here to another page so that you could view one of our Extend Posts. So read on and I hope you enjoy what you read! ~

~ I believe that KingsIsle needs to stop focusing on dishing out world-content and become more focused on their players and the community then things might improve. For example, I believe that if KingsIsle started to walk about the Commons like; what Gameforge does, and began to monitor the rude behaviour of some of their players and then executing consequences such as a short IP ban or muting than the Commons would actually become a good place to hang out. As well, I believe that if KingsIsle reviewed their Message Boards and looked over at some of these player’s ideas than maybe there wouldn’t be so much complaining about there being nothing to do. For example, I’ve noticed a few posts on the Message Boards talking about ways to revive the Shopping District so it becomes more of a hub for shopping. Some other posts that I’ve seen are ways to imply recycling tc, trading reagents, and even allowing us to choose our own Arcane Castle from the Arcane Builder’s Bundle. ~

~ There’s even posts on ways to create balance amongst the seven major schools. A good example of this would be to give Life a low pip AaE, to give Myth better minions, heals, a stronger AaE. But again, even with all of these requests KingsIsle has adamantly ignored them. And these requests have been around since before Khrysalis was released. ~

~ But anyways, I’ve complained enough. Now it’s time I share more of my ideas on how KingsIsle could improve.
~

Example 1) Spells:
Revise some of the Spells in W izard101 and give theurgists a 5-pip AaE, and give conjurer’s a myth-based healing spell, an 8-pip AaE, and more powerful minions that actually have a chance against Aztecan and Khrysalian mobs and bosses.

Example 2) PvP:
Fix the PvP match-up system. As of right now it’s incredibly unfair. Grandmaster Warlords are occasionally matched up with Exalted Sergeants who have a much better chance to defeat those Warlords.

Example 3) The Arcane Bundle:
The concept of the Arcane Bundle is really cool. However, KingsIsle is refusing to allow us to be able to choose our own Arcane Castle. The main reason why we weren’t able to do so in the first place was because of the way the castle blocks were set up. But now that we can craft them I don’t understand why we still can’t choose one of the three castles.

Example 4) Monitoring the Spiral: Many Wizards are afraid to report those who swear and some that do report are always ganged up upon. As well, since the ability to report is a crown-player and member’s only option to many wizards can do it if they can’t afford to purchase crowns or a membership. And the hall-monitors in Wizard101 are nowhere to be found when you need them. That’s why I believe that KingsIsle should either monitor the Commons, the Arena, and a few other places in the Spiral for bad behaviour or swearing or they need to hire more responsible hall-monitors.

Example 5) Side activities: In Wizard101 side activities are an essential to keep players busy when they’re bored with questing or if they’ve completed all of their quests. However, as of late there haven’t been many fun side activities. Yes there’s Fishing but not everyone has a fancy for it. Plus on top of that, Fishing is somewhat difficult and more of a stressful activity rather than a fun for some. And the fact that it requires energy limits how many activities you can actually do in one day without wasting money on buying an Energy Elixir. I believe that KingsIsle should create a fourth globe for Fishing and Gardening and any other future side activities. As well I believe they should speed up the process of being able to gain energy for these activities. Because waiting 10 minutes for a single energy point is very tedious. To conclude, I think KingsIsle should expand on other Worlds of the Spiral and add new activities to those worlds so that players are encouraged to actually progress to reach those worlds.

Example 6) Pet Training:
Pet training has been around for a long, long time in Wizard101. But as of late it’s become very tedious and boring. I believe that if KingsIsle expanded the Pet Pavilion and added on new activities, as well as adding new derby tracks, and new forms of contests than players wouldn’t be so easily bored.

Example 7) Questing: Currently in Wizard101 we have a very small collection of the types of quests we can do. An example of the types of quests we have are: Fishing, Crafting, Defeat and Collect, Defeat #(Creature), Defeat (Boss), Talk to (NPC), and so forth. And after doing these quests so many times it’s no wonder many players get bored and leave. I believe KingsIsle needs to expand our questing horizons. For instance maybe they could have a type of Quests where we play a mini-game against an NPC like maybe instead of having us just intereact with the Thane’s Table game in Austrilund we could ACTUALLY PLAY the game against Skeggis himself.

Example 8) Shopping: In every world there’s tons of empty houses in the world hubs that could be used to add on new NPCs that sell various rare items such as furniture or wands. For example, I believe that if Wizard101 has a weekly rotation of characters that sold various wares in the Shopping District than the place might return to a bustling hub.

Example 9) Trading and Trashing: Over the past few months many players have requested Furniture and Reagent trading. Now this idea doesn’t seem that bad. Webkinz already has a way of allowing us to trade furniture and many times some players have reagents that other players need. This type of content has both positive and negative effects. The negative effects being that their might be tricksters and thieves out there. But hopefully you’ll know better when someone says they’ll gift you a mount if you give them a few sunstone. However, the positive effects of allowing players to trade furniture and reagents is that there’s a chance that players may socialize with others in the game and friendships might be made. To conclude, as I said earlier someone talked about the idea of recycling. I’m not going to go on about that right now so I’ll simply cite their idea and place it below.

Many of us have accumulated treasure cards that cannot be sold and the only effective way to remove them is to right mouse click and destroy them...but should we really be doing this?
We're now living in an age where we are all encouraged to conserve energy and resources and to recycle as much as we can and we encourage our children to do the same..we can reinforce the message in game too.
KI, please consider introducing a "recylcle tc's" feature. This could be done by right clicking as is done now but the words "recycle this card?" instead of "destroy this card?" appears.
To encourage recycling and to reinforce the message to our younger players a small reward system could be implemented, say, for every ten cards that are recycled the player is given another lower level tc that can
be sold at the bazaar etc.
I think my idea would firmly put KI up there as a "socially aware" company.
What are your thoughts fellow wizards?

Example 10) World Hubs: In my opinion I believe that all of the hubs of every world should be free so that players can get a feel of what the world will be like before or once they get there so that they can decide if they want to continue or not. I also think that maybe all of Wizard City should be free so that players can at least accomplish a whole world before they decide if this game is for them or not.
Example 11) Crown Items: A lot of the items we receive from Bundles, Crown Packs, and the Crown shop is just plain junk. In my personal opinion I think KingsIsle should boost up the stats on some of the Crown Attire so it’s actually useful and as well I believe that the Crown packs we purchase from the Crown shop should give us something rare after so many times of purchasing one of the packs.

Example 12) RPG Expansion:
This idea is more of an additional side activity. Many players love to role play. But there’s not enough emotes and actions to fulfill the whole experience. I believe that KingsIsle should allow us to sit down and maybe give us a cooking activity so that we can enjoy this fun activity on a whole new level. I also believe that they should make an Amphitheatre expansion to one of Wizard City’s streets to allow players to hang out, role play, and maybe even put on shows every Friday night for the other players.

Example 13) No Trade Items:
Many players have been complaining how Bundle Houses, attire, etc should be tradeable amongst their characters. And I agree. I don’t see how it’s fair that we waste gold, time farming, or actual money to get a bundle house, or an extremely rare robe just to lose it when we go to delete a character because we want to make a new one. If KingsIsle enabled their players to trade these items in their banks than we all might be a bit happier.

Example 14) Weather/Day and Night: This has been a major request over the past few years. Countless times players have requested a Day and Night cycle as well as weather effects but KingsIsle has adamantly refused to do this too. Thus I have a compromise. What if KingsIsle simply placed a Day and Night cycle in our Castles? And as for the whole weather system, I believe that just like the Music Player we should get a weather machine and use weather globes to add weather effects to our houses much like how music scrolls enable us to play music in our Houses. However, weather will be for outside only.

Example 15) Raiding/Farming: Raiding...or farming is essential if you want to progress in the game. But as of late it’s grown tedious. The drop rates are too high, some of the bosses are to hard thus making the battles to long. And some of the attire is just plain awful. There’s a huge lacking of stats in the attire from the Morganthe Arc. and anything that has has a potential of being good is either at the end of an extremely long dungeon that costs and extremely high amount of Crowns or is just extremely rare to get. And sometimes the attire is at the end of an extremely long and expensive dungeon and is an extremely rare drop. Many of us believe that KingsIsle needs to boost the drop rates of items from various Bosses because it’s not healthy to sit in front of a screen 24/7 farming for potentially good attire.

~ Well theses are my ideas on how KingsIsle could improve. If you have any I'd love to read them in the comments section below. Until then, farewell..! ~
